Tenth Sunday after Pentecost

Psalm 121     Genesis 12:1-9
As we reflect on the story in which God commands Abram and Sarai to leave their home to travel into an uncertain future, we realize that sometimes we find ourselves needing to leave the familiar in order to grow and to thrive. The beginning of a journey involves leaving home – whether that is a physical place we leave in order to explore another part of the world, or a mindset we must change so that we can expand our spiritual capacity. Today, as we prepare our hearts for worship, the question before us is this: What must we do to embark into the unknown?
