new series:

Unraveled: Seeking God when our plans fall apart

Six months into a pandemic, with wildfires raging in the West and hurricanes pummeling the East, with political battles reaching new levels of nastiness and absurdity at the same time nightly protests over the treatment of black Americans continue, it is easy to feel our world is falling apart.

And so we ask: how do we press onward when our tightly-knit plans unravel into frayed threads? What do we become when our identity — or the path we’re on — comes undone? What if all of this is not the end we fear it will be?

In our unraveling, sometimes life surprises us with unexpected joy, love, and hope — with a new beginning we couldn’t have imagined. Sometimes we need God to unwind us, for we long to be changed. Over four weeks beginning September 27, we will explore biblical stories of unraveled identity, fear, grief, and expectations. These are stories where God meets us in the spiraling, unraveling our plans — and us — into something new. Join us as the powerful stories of Job, Peter, Zacchaeus and Paul remind us that when we trust God, sometimes our untangling leads us to stronger places where we can grow and flourish.
