Children & Youth

Raising up people who value faith, community, compassion, and hospitality

Nursery Care

The nursery is staffed every Sunday by our infant first aid- and CPR-certified caregiver who will provide loving attention to your infants and children through 1st grade from 9:30 – noon.

Discovery Chapel

All are welcome at Sunday School, and we offer a safe, inclusive environment for children. Discovery Chapel leaders offer interactive sessions to help children deepen their connection in our church community and explore how their faith can help them navigate their world.

From September 10, 2023, through April 2024, kids in grades 2 – 12 are invited to join leaders after the Children’s Message in worship. Our program year is themed “Justice is Biblical!” and is designed to provide a strong foundation in Biblical literacy, contextual and age-appropriate understanding, and love-centered action. Activities are engaging and vary from arts to technology, and from food to games.

Youth (Grades 6-12)

Teaching our children to be compassionate and service-oriented people of faith is one of our core values. We have youth events for grades 6 – 12. ALL kids are welcome. The events are great opportunities for kids to meet up, make friends, and help others.

Lock-ins, retreats, service projects, and special events are just a part of what we do.

THE LIVING ROOM: A safe space to help make the world a better place to live.”

We’ve created an inclusive place to hang out in on the first & third Tuesdays of the month from 3:30 – 5 PM. Snacks, beverages, games, and deeper chats about life and faith are what’s in store for any youth in grades 6-12.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the portion of a young person’s lifelong faith journey during which they begin to form their own views about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, mission and the church. It is their chance to say “yes” to the promises their parents made at their baptism and for the church to say “yes” to their growing faith. Confirmation is a multiple-month commitment of learning, questioning and exploring that usually begins in middle school and culminates in the rite of confirmation, generally held on Pentecost. The next confirmation class in summer 2023 and confirmation will be on Pentecost, May 19th, 2024.

Teeter-Totter Marathon

We are thrilled to share that the 47th annual Teeter-Totter Marathon surpassed its goal and raised over $10,000 in mid-March 2023 despite the bitter cold. Funds were split equally between Second Mile Outreach and The Gathering Place.

Save the date for the 48th TTM – Saturday & Sunday, May 4 & 5th, 2024!
