All Saints Sunday: Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost 2023

November 5, 2023

On this communion Sunday, we will hear Jesus’ parable of the ten bridesmaids, five of whom rush out to add oil to their lamps only to return and find that the door is closed and the wedding celebration has gone on without them. As we give thanks for those we have loved and lost this past year, this parable reminds us that we never know when a door will close for us forever and so we must heed Jesus’ advice to “Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” Pastor Vicki McGaw leads worship.
